Old Building, New Twist

Chicago seems to be flooded with new construction as of late. The skyline is steadily morphing as architects battle to design innovative, multi-use structures in record time. Buildings like Spire and The Trump Tower are some of the first that come to mind. While this is all exciting for consumers, and great for Chi economy, it also strikes me as a bit melancholy. With the influx of new, more useful and energy efficient buildings, the need for some of Chicago’s older, historic structures wanes.
You’re sad too, yes? Fret no more, Centrum’s No. 10 Lofts offer a unique solution to your new-construction blues. The Lofts are adaptive reuse; meaning the building itself was constructed for something else. Further, the homes take cues from the original structure with exposed brick-walls and dramatic interior timber. The whole ensemble provides a particular Chicago-style charm that—let’s face it—just isn’t present in new construction.
In addition to feeling satisfied in the fact that you’re helping to preserve our city’s history, being an owner at No. 10 Lofts has quite a few perks. The exclusive Owner’s Club grants you access to an enormous party room, café and restaurant-style kitchen. In addition, there are billiard rooms, an outdoor BBQ patio, a big-screen DVD theatre, and a business center (just in case all that entertainment leaves you feeling guilty).
