Upon learning about the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club and with the help of Alderman Gene Schulter, Centrum Properties recently donated $10,000 to the program. Centrum’s donation will help the program to offer a wide range of activities, provide better equipment, and keep facilities up to date. The enhancement of any community and the encouraging atmosphere that the Club provides is a priority for Centrum and we are proud to support such a great program.

For over 75 years, the neighborhood in which our Bradley Place enclave of single-family residences is located has been home to a strong Boys and Girls Club that keeps the motto of

fostering constructive behavior while forming strong friendships, keeping kids out of trouble, out of gangs, and off drugs.

Since it’s foundation in 1931, thousands of the area’s youth have benefited from after-school programs that the club has organized. With activities such as sports teams, the kids are offered a fun alternative to illegal activities that this age group often turns to. The group also offers the opportunity to enhance the neighborhood by working closely with other community groups, nearby schools, as well as senior centers. Free to its yearly 1,200 members, the Club is privately funded as an independent organization and is unaffiliated with any institution.
