CHICAGO—Centrum Properties today announced its new Vice President of Development as Vic Pildes. Pildes will be responsible for large-scale development management at The Roosevelt Collection.

With a graduate degree in architecture from the University of Michigan, he brings over 25 years of industry experience to Centrum’s team. Previous to his new position, Pildes was a Vice President of Development for Westfield.

Centrum Properties has been named a Builder 100 company. It is based in Chicago and was founded in 1980. In addition to creating innovative residential spaces nation-wide, Centrum has developed major commercial spaces like 600 West, a 1.5 million square foot state-of-the-art office and technology project. A graduate of Butler University, he previously worked in development at The Westfield Group, where he opened three retail projects totaling over 175 million dollars.

The Roosevelt Collection today announced that more than half of its 342 modern loft units have sold, despite less than desirable market conditions.

“Walsh Construction, our general contractor, has done an incredible job by completing construction on the foundation and three-level garage; which acts as a base for the retail boulevard,” said John McLinden, partner at Centrum. Walsh is currently pressing forward to finish the retail floors in the project, in addition to several residential floors in the east building.

Upon completion, the development will feature a 43-story condominium building, (in addition to the loft units) over 40 high-end retailers, and a landscaped park. The park is intended to play host to art fairs, farmer’s markets and concerts.
